Founded in 2009 by Derek Lamberton, Blue Crow Media is an independent publisher dedicated to creating thoughtfully designed and carefully curated city maps. We produce every publication with integrity, from concept to sustainable print, and, where possible, we seek to celebrate the underappreciated and reveal the overlooked.
Our publications began with a series of food and drink city maps and apps, and since 2015 we have published a series of architecture and design guide maps. The New York Times describes the maps as "part design manifesto, part urban architecture guide". We print all of our titles on recycled FSC-certified paper with a carbon-neutral printer.
The majority of our maps celebrate 20th century architecture, from London to Tokyo and Tbilisi to Detroit. We also publish an annual limited edition calendar dedicated to Brutalist architecture.
Our new series dedicated to trees in cities around the world will soon include London, New York and Paris, with further cities to be added.
Our publications are available in independent bookshops worldwide. Our list of stockists and distributors is here.
We work with a variety of professional writers and photographers to produce high quality publications. Please contact us with ideas.
